The two books you need for the NC SP-PH exam
The NC SP-PH exam is open book, including the NASCLA guide. NCBEEC requires Plumbing and Heating (SP-PH) candidates to bring their own copy of:
- 2020 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
- NASCLA Contractors' Guide to Business, Law, and Project Management, North Carolina Electrical 14th edition
They are the only references allowed at the SP-PH testing center.
The exam also covers NC electrical licensing law (General Statutes Chapter 87, Article 4), Board rules (Title 21 NCAC, Chapter 18B) and the NASCLA guide.
